About the airport
Barcelona Airport, El Prat (Barcelona, Spain) is located in south-east Barcelona, between El Prat de LLobregat and Viladecans municipal districts and it is 18 km far from Barcelona city centre. From the aiport operate key european and international airlines, distributed into its two terminals. Terminal 1 (T1), opened in 2009, is the newest and modernest one. Currently, the airlines belonging to Star Alliance, Sky Team and One World, together with other airlines that fly intercontinental routes, operate from this terminal. At the Terminal 2 (T2), all the airlines, but easyJet that checks in from Terminal 2C (T2C), operate from Terminal 2B (T2B). T2A is currently been refurbished, so it's closed to the public.

At the Barcelona airport there is a huge range of services, more than 81 shops, bars and restaurants, and it is one of the most active commercial areas in Europe. Moreover, the airport premises are fully adapted to reduced movility people and offer public parkings around each terminal. T1 provides other exclusive services such as a business centre, a gym, hair-dressers, rest-areas and VIP lounges.
The airport is located 18 km from the center of Barcelona.
Terminals
After being refurbished and enlarged Barcelona Airport is made up by two big and key terminals known as T1 and T2; different airlines operate from these two terminals.
Terminal 1:
This is the newest terminal at the airport and offers new and avant-garde premises. More than 40 airlines are located in this building that has five boarding areas situated on first and third floors.

At this moment, it is been refurbished and airlines that were operating there have been moved to T2B.

Terminal 2 C:
Only easyJet and Easyjet Switzerland operate from this area.
Conecction between terminals:
Barcelona airport terminals are connected by internal and external walkways. However, the airport provides two free bus routes that link both terminals and are thought for passengers to move confortly and quicky from one terminal to another or from the Rodalies Renfe railway station.
Bus-trànsit that links T1 with T2 operates every 6-7 minutes. Journey time, 10 minutes.
Bus-trànsit that links T1 with Rodalies Renfe railway station departs every 30 minutes. Journey time, 10 minutes.
Getting there
Barcelona airport, El Prat, is really well connected both by road (car, bus, taxi) and rail.
By rail:
Rodalies Renfe railways provide 2 lines that connect to the airport.
Line 2, Aeropuerto (airport)- Sant Celoni, runs every 30 minutes from 6.08h to 23.38h.
The other line, Aeropuerto (airport) - Estació de França, runs every 30 minutes, too, from 5h to 22.38h.
Rodalies Renfe railway station is located in front of T2.

Barcelona airport is accessible from C-31 dual carriageway from Barcelona-Casteldefells.
Destination T1: make the detour B-22.

From the city of Barcelona ring roads, it is possible to arrive by the so-called Pata Sur. Once at the airport, both terminals are connected by road.
En Taxi:
Taxi stops are located at the arriving area and at the Barcelona-Madrid air corridor at T1; and in front of the main T2 entrances. The journey from the airport to the centre of Barcelona costs € 20 (minimal fare), although it can be increased according to taxi supplements ( for example, excess luggage or regular night days).

Car parks:
Parking areas are available both at T1 and T2 and also at the conecction areas of the subterminals. It offers more than 23,000 parking slots distributed among the two main terminals and are connected to the terminal buildings via walkways. A 24 hours private security system controls the safety of the cars. 10km/hour is the speed limit inside the airport parkings. There are several payment machines in the terminal lobbies and at the pedestrian entrances to the car park. The maximun fare for one day car parking is €18.
